Networking through TCP/IP?

I have 6 Macs, all running OS9 at the moment and networked using AppleTalk.
They are all linked to a Router which also has a DSL modem sharing the internet connection between the macs.

We have had persistent problems with AppleTale and have been recommended to swap to networking via TCP/IP but have no idea how to go about this.

Several of these macs will soon be running OSX full time therefore will it still be capable of connecting to all the other macs via TCP/IP?

Does anyone know of a good walkthrough (for dummies) that can tell us how to network all these macs together using TCP/IP?

Thanks ;)

I believe all you have to do is open the File Sharing control panel and check the box labeled something like "Allow clients to connect via TCP/IP" or "File Sharing over TCP/IP". That will run the AppleTalk protocol over TCP/IP.

Simple as that? Great, thanks :)
