new battery?

I just got a powerbook G4 12" 867MHz...the battery seemed fine but I left it out unplugged the other night–on my floor in my room–and the cold must of drained the battery...before it would say I had a lot of time before the battery was out–like 12 or even more–and now that its recharging from 0 it says it'll take (9:46)...would you say I need a new battery?

Depends, average lifespan of a Li-Ion battery is 1,5 - 2 years. Most break down after that, like mine did. It happened overnight from me, to unacceptably short lifespan of an hour to none. At all ... I'd say it's time for a new one sadly enough ...
