New Dual G4 and SCSI

Hello all!

As my beige G3 broke down I need a new Mac, but I want to use my old SCSI-Scanner. OK, I looked at www.hamrick.com for vuescan and this sounds nice - my old scanner is on the supported list :)
But: what SCSI-Adapter is to use and will work at OS10.2?
Any tips will be appreciated :)

Greetings and best regards

For your need, buy the cheapest supported SCSI card you can find. I would suggest a Adaptec PowerDomain 2906, or even an Orangemicro Grappler 906F. Neither card would be adequate if you were attaching disks to it, but for a scanner they should be fine.

Well look here when i bought my g4 it came with a scsi card. I have it right here but never used it. I know nothing about scsi cards so i dont know how much you would pay for it. But its a SIIG and on the back it says sc-ps1x12. You want it how much you willing to pay. It looks like new nothing wrong with it.

Thanks for your offer!

Where are you living? Maybe that would make it a little bit complicated and expensive - I live in Germany :)

if you're using OSX, I've had nothing but trouble with
my SCSI peripherials, and the card was stock
apple/adaptec2930. Can't use my scanner or cd-r.

now with jaguar/10.2, I've had to pull my SCSI card
out just to get my G4/500/DP to boot!!!

go with firewire if you can.
that's the way apple wants it.
scsi-punks!

Well is you still want it. I live in ny I never shipped out of the country so you just pay for shipping and tell me how and i will.

Hypernate, yes it is possible. I have seen them at frys electronics. Havent really checked prices or brands since i dont own anything scsi.
