So - I went out on lunch to the local Compusa.

Looked at a dual PM 1.25 mhz with 512 ram and a 120 gig drive. ... Talking with the sales guy he offered it to me for 50 off the clearance price of 1799. and will through in a 3 year apple care package for free because it was the last model they had. Well I baught it and would like to hear from the people with this model and how they like it? Or if I should have any concerns with updates and such??

I am upgrading from a B&W G3 550 mhz.

Add more memory!

If it's one that will still boot from OS 9, then it's fairly desirable!

Might have loud fans....

You can add lots of internal HDs

My dad got a dual 1.25 Ghz machine. He originally got a dual 867 for $900, but since it was a lemon (which they told him—they had already replaced the mobo) he traded it for the 1.25 with a free scanner & printer. Quite a deal.

He loves it, and I love it when I go over there.

BTW: The Duel G5... :)

hmmm... Was that with a Superdrive or combo drive? You could get a G5 (non-duel) for the $1799 price, with combo drive...

with super drive and airport card .. so basically it was 1499 plus 249 for the 3 year apple care.

Dual 1.25
120 gig drive
1 gig ram
airport card
superdrive
Radeon 9000 pro

Sounds like you got a good deal. I'm contemplating weather I should get a new PowerBook or not. They have a deal at SFSU (the university), PB 15" 1ghz for 1 699 bucks.
I can afford it, I'd just hate it if they would come out with an G5 powerbook in january. I don't have to buy right now, but want to buy a new powerbook soon.
