New eMac, new price - $25.45????

now how cool would it be if apple being the cool company it is. Went in and said hey well give you the emacs for 25$ and you can keep the other 45 cents for your self - that would be one way of increasing the market share!

this shows how much impact on the marketshare iit would have if apple lowered their prices.

yup yup yup! they should have a 1 day event - world wide where all the cpus are reduced - like 50$ for emac and ibook 75$ for imac 85$ powerbook and 100$ for powermac! I would like to see how many cpus they sold that day! LOL

I doubt it. Most of the orders were probably people who were going to sell them and make a profit.

lol, so true.

Ummm, $100 off a Mac is nothing... take $500, then I'm jumping on a G5 with the quickness.

competitive if you don't have a monitor. drop 500.00 off the G5, and see what happens. I like the 1 day sale. limit it to 1 per address, and I'll buy.

The article said (if I recollect correct) that filling all the orders would have given Apple a 90% market share...

Of Course it wouldn't have helped because it would have busted them too

but Apple could afford it. They're not in the hole.

I'd love to see something like this to happen. Hell, sell it to that cheap, then charge me 210.00 for the next OS upgrade. I'll even stand in line for that.

naw, I would like a nice rebate. That way those that forget to mail it in, don't get their money and Apple might keep a little of that money. But it would definitely get m to go for that G5 i've been holding back on. I want it, but my system does what i need, but I want it... I want an iPod for my car too, but I don't need it, but I just want it.

A car edition iPod, now that would be hot, and I would get that in a second. Me walking around listening to an iPod is very unlikely, I spend more time at the desk or driving, the only times i regularly listen to music.
