New HD, best way to transfer from old HD to new?

Newbie question here. I am replacing my MacBook Pro hard drive. What is the best way to transfer all my data to the new HD without doing it all manually?

From a Time Machine backup or by using migration assistant found in the applications/utilities folder. Another very good way is by using disk utility (also found in the applications/utilities folder) and doing a restore from the previous drive to the new drive. Any of these methods will require an external HD with sufficient free space formatted HFS+ (journaled), or a external usb/firwire HD dock/enclosure.
 
Just use Carbon Copy Cloner and clone your old hard drive to the new hard drive. Just get an external case you can put the new and old hard drive in before doing the clone and swap of hard drives.
