new iBook ticker

I wonder how long after Christmas it will be. I'm going to need a laptop by then definitely, so looks like the current Powerbooks will do. You can't always have the latest and greatest stuff :)

well, one more thing to consider: once the new powerbooks arrived, the old ones will be a lot cheaper. So, there is another reason to wait.. ;)

Unless the old ones are sold out before the new ones arrive... It's usually a rather small window for catching cheaper old PowerBooks. And also, the new ones usually look quite appealing. ;-) I remember when I bought the PB 15"/1.33 I was also looking at the then-just-old 15" 1.0 and 1.25 Ghz models, but the prices just weren't right, plus I thought I would have less problems with a Rev. B 15" AluBook (and I was definitely right), plus there's the better video card etc. I think I'd have eaten my hat, had I bought an 'old' one then, only to see the performance lacking (to my experience) and strange white spots on the screen after a while...

Well: These problems have been solved, so the Rev. B 15" (and Rev. C 12" and 17") are "good" models to buy even now (if their prices are reduced). But I guess if you're in for a new PowerBook, you might just be in want of the new model once they arrive... If they're G5, I'd personally go for the cheaper G4 models. If they're however the last G4 models to appear, I'd rather take that... (Rev. A G5 PowerBook? I guess they're gonna be too hot and have new Rev. A problems... But that's just personal experience from previous Rev. A models...)
