new ical

cfleck

tired
so i upgraded to the new ical (1.5.1) and i must say that it is a pretty sweet upgrade. if you shunned it before for lack of features or whatever you may want to check it out again.

i used it before because my demands for a calendar program were minimal and it suited my needs, but now it just seems much easier to use. i'd try to explain what is different, but i think you'd be better served by just trying it out, then we can chat.

Still no Exchange support (*sigh*).

Of course, I wouldn't be able to use it anyway because the PC zealots at work only support MAPI. Then again, I wish Mail/Entourage/Address Book/etc. supported MAPI, Exchange won't properly support the "open" standards until at least 2005...

WHOA.

Did that just load up as quickly as I think it did?

Two bounces with almost no lag in time to display the window!!

I'm already impressed. :)

The side panel is soooo much easier to use. I've actually start using on a daily basis to remember things now (now that's why it's called iCal!)

Previously, I used to think it was a bit of chore to input anything into it.

Exactly how I feel/felt! :D

If all you need is the calenders that you made on your mac to be on a pc, You should get .Mac and u can upload ur calenders in a second and put it up for friends or workers to view. check it out, that is, if this is all that you need.

i have like 4 different calendars (work, school, etc.) but it seems that ical can only publish one in its own calendar. anyone know how i can get it to public 2 or more calendars to the same web calendar?

The fact that people think this is acceptable is maybe why Apple's been able to get away with it...

So for $99 I can have less functionality? Instead of my coworkers being able to see my calendar in their calendar app, they have to go to a web page, which they can't do anything with? They can't send me meeting requests, that I can acknowledge, and possibly propose new times for? I can't send meeting requests to my coworkers, or for that class I have to give next week?
