New Mac User....How to Format my iBook?

Hi,
I am a new mac user (iBook g4) and was wondering whether i could just over ride my current version of osx (10.3) to 10.4???

help Please!!

Hi Liam

You can format the hard drive using Disk Utility. You can find that both on the Mac OS X Install CD or DVD (1), and in your Apllications / Utilitites folder. Running the program from the Utilities folder does not allow you to format the hard drive you are currently booted to.

If you simply want to install the same or a different (later that which your Mac shipped with) version of OS X to your Mac, simply insert the Install DVD 1, and select the Erase & Install option (after backupping what you need to before).
