new mac user needs help

here are the specs of the computer i just bought

digital audio tower
giga designs dual 1.7 ghz g4 proc.
2 80 GB 7200 RPM HD's
pioneer 110 superdrive
zip 250

os 10.3.9 is installed on one HD
os 9.2.1 is installed on other HD


i bought tiger

if i buy a new hard drive, take out the 2 old ones, put the new one in and pop in the cd, will tiger install and work fine

the way the guy built it and set it up is wierd, too many stupid games and useless apps, i don't want os 9 either

i just want a fresh clean system

my computer wont load anymore and wont even boot from disk because i tried erasing and restoring from cd, etc. myself

someone please help me

The drives should be set one Master and the other Slave. I can only speculate the OSX drive is the Master drive, while the OS9 disk was the Slave. If you install a fresh Tiger on the master drive, without any foreseen problems, that will be the boot drive. The other drive you can use for backup and storage.

If you put a new drive in (replacing the two old ones), just make sure it's set to master. I'm not sure whether that particular machine supports drives larger than 120 GB with its IDE-ports (you'd have to try, probably).
Booting from the Tiger DVD or CDs should work without problems with this machine, though.
