Hi,

Im new in mac, my cousin gave me a macbookair a month ago, he used it before and he had a problem using it because it was to slow during bootup, running a application and even shutting it down... so i decided to reinstall the mac and i use mac leopard installer which i just borrowed it from a friend and i didnt register it after the installation.. now when i try to run the software update it has an error the say "index-leopard-seed-1.sucatalog coudnt find on the server"...what does it mean? and is there a solution?

any information would be appreciated.

thanks to all
Pius

It probably means that you need to use a legitimate, legal copy of OS X to install on your MacBook Air.

"Borrowing" a copy from a friend meets none of the above criteria. There are plenty of places on the internet that will help you do things like this that are in violation of Mac OS X's EULA -- unfortunately, this is not one of those places.

You could ask your cousin to kindly include the CDs and DVDs that originally came with the MacBook Air, as those discs are only good with the MacBook Air, and cannot be used on another model of Mac.

Snow Leopard is $30, brand-new, legal and legitimate.

actually my cousin went back home to U.S. now. i'm from Philippines btw, anyway i guess thats the safest way that i can do...thank you very much for your reply.

thanks,
Pius
