hi i justed purchased a new 15 inch pb w/ superdrive. I am using a wireless linksys router to connect to the internet. I have disable all encryption and reset router to default. my powerbook says it is connect to the router. i can see my windows network and can transfer files between the two. i am not using dhcp i manually configured the tcpip settings, gateway, and dns servers. my problem is that i try to do anything on the internet it doesnt work. from surfing the web, ichat, and wow. if i plug in a wired ethernet cable with the same settings it works fine. i want wireless and it isnt working. someone please help me.

update: tried pining inside the network worked fine. tried pinging ibm.com ip address. did not work no response. tried disabling firewall on router. still did not work. please help. thanks in advance.

update: upgraded router firmware to the latest. still no luck.

update: when pining anything in network i get response, ping anything outside i get timeouts.

Is your computer getting an IP from the router? sounds like you are. It sounds like something in the DNS setting? If I were you I would double check it out in your router and in your manually configured Mac Network settings.

i am getting an ip from the router. the dns settings are fine i have had the 2 same dns ips for as long as i can remember. its not that i cant translate the ip into a domain, i cant even connect to the ip alone by pinging it if it isnt in my network. i know 100% that the router settings are fine.

in manually configed mac network settings they are:
ip: 192.168.1.11
subnet: 255.255.255.0
router: 192.168.1.245
DNS: are from my isp, tried setting them as router ip but didnt work.

appletalk,ipv6, and proxies are off.
