New Safari

I tried this Acid 3 test with my "old" Safari (still version 3.0.4) and it also failed. So did IE for Mac (version 5.2.3) and Firefox (version 2).

So I don't think any Mac browser will pass it. Or?

Nope. On 10.5.2 it is a clean as butter. Have you cleaned your system cache and ran maintenance on that Mac? You can get a cleaning program for 10.4 from either Yasu or Onyx. Run all the routines from either program (it will take the machine a little longer to re-create the cache files on startup) and restart twice after it is done cleaning.

Plus older QuickTime plugins can cause havoc with web videos. Keep and eye out for old Quicktime plugins in either /Library/QuickTime/ or /Users/YourUsersName/Library/Quicktime/.

Well WebKit sure works fast. They now have a perfect 100/100 on the Acid 3 test! WebKit is the first browser to do so. So It looks like we will be seeing a new Safari update sooner than later.
