New SW Update = iTunes hurt

since the new update, my itunes has not been functioning properly....

it has froze on launch.....3 times

now it eventually works...but i am forced to watch the beach ball spin for about 2 or 3 minutes before itunes is functional...this is every time i launch now.


anyone have the same issues?
any suggestions?
 
Does it happen with a different user.

If no then...

Trash your iTunes preferences. Move any plugins you have out of the way. Logout and in and try it again.
 
fixed it.....

somehow a file got thrown into the plugins folder that didnt belong....

was causing itunes to "Think Different":D

threw it out and works fine now......
 
Actually, I had the same impression, and I didn't put any plugins in any folders.
It crashes sometimes (it never used to do that for me) and then it's completely un-quittable (have to force quit several times).
It totally screwed up my library, so I had to start over with my playcounts etc. :(

The latest QT installer did what you described to almost all my iApps. I had to do an archive/preserve reinstall of the OS and rerun all the updaters in order for the iApps to work again.
