Help Please! I have a Mac OS X 10.5 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with a gig of memory and the hd seems to have died. I have a new hd and operating system now but I want my data back.
I am new to MACS and the guys at the store seem to be jerking me around.
I know that the hd is spinning but when I hook it up to a Bytecc USB 2.0 Drive mate to recover my data nothing happens.
Is there some way to see if it will be possible to access this drive outside of the os? I guess the question is ... is there a boot disk/recovery disk like the Ultimate Boots CD to access a drive out side of the mac's resident os.
It would seem that the other drive is missing a boot sector or whatever Mac does to its drive. I am out of my element when it comes to Macs.
Thanks
Ted
