new user! - what app do i use for a .pkg file?

hi guys, new mac user, new member, got my head around most thins, and i dont think i hada problem with this to start with, but could somebody tell me what app to use with a .pkg file? - ive got stuffit - and i get an error using this, what should i use??

thanx in advance for any help/advice

.Pkg files should open on there own, when you click on them. If you get a error when clicking on the file, the file it's self may be corrupt, download it again and try.
Post specifically what it is you are trying to open.
