I decided to make my PC more secure by adding a password to the guest account and my own account. I also said to make my home folder private.
Now when I try to log on from the Mac (OS 10.3.8), I double click on the alias in the Network window (Finder), get the dialog with the (MS) network name, my name, and I enter my password (or leave it blank), and I get the message "The alias "THEPCXP" could not be opened because the original item cannot be found".
I tried removing the password on my account and making the home folder "non-private" - no change. I don't know how to remove the PC guest password, and anyway, wouldn't want to. Tried restarting the PC but no effect.
What should I do now?
