No tools work

I just downloaded 70MB of Apple developer tools for Mac OS X off of connect.apple.com. I open Developer.pkg and the Installer.app opens. I enter my admin password and go through the steps. Finally, when I click Install, it says
"Couldn't write bom to path"
And nothing will ever install.

Help please!

You decompressed the file with Stuffit. Unfortunatly Stuffit has an incomplete algoritme, so some things might go wrong.

You will have to use the commandline, or better get this graphical decompress utility. It will serve you well to decompress all those Linux like files.
