Noisy DVD Player on iMac G5

Hi,
Not sure if I am in the correct place or not as I`ve just joined today.

My DVD/CD player on my iMac G5 is making a fairly loud rumbling noise from time to time. Some CD`s are fine while others create like a vibrating noise on an off. Difficult to describe it but it is very annoying when you are trying to watch a video lesson. Any ideas as to what might be causing this or better still any ideas as to any how I can get rid of it.

Drives can fail since they are mechanical. Since you have had the G5 have you used a CD cleaner or put in any compressed air to blow out the dust?

If the drive is really making alarming noises then have the drive replaced.
