Not a moan

This might come across as a moan, but it's not - I value the site hugely and don't mind in the slightest if ads are tagged onto my posts if that helps keep the Forum running.
But why some posts and not others? How is it decided? Is it totally random or what? I thought it was on a user seniority basis at first (ie newbies carry the ads) but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Just curious.

If you notice the adds are different on differrent Post, those changes are made by either the subjects keywords or key words in the post, so if the subject uses the word iPod for example, google adds works by that to place in an iPod add.

But as for some threads not having adds, I've never taken any notice of missing adds, so possibly some keywords aren't strong enough for add support, or perhaps there is a small google add you may not notice.

huh, had never noticed the tiny 'google ads' logo. Shows how much attention I pay.
Thanks for the answer

Ads are placed "in position" in page threads. After first post and fourth. If no Google ads match for keywords on the page, then you will see other types of ads, internal or other.
