ntp time sync problem

WhateverJoe

echo $row['what_tha'];
this is getting frustrating, and well... just down right annoying...

I have tried many things to keep the system time correct on a box serving as an intranet server. 10.0.4's ntp time sync is just simply broken in my opinion, and the time loss is too dramatic as well....

The system gets 1 minute behind the correct time every 28 hours, with-in a week it's very behind and is causing a problem...

The system is a new QuickSilver 733....

At anyrate, I have typed in many o many ntp time servers in the Date-Type panel with no results, have even installed Tardis on a local NT system and set up an NTP broadcast service from it... works great on other Windows clients, when I change the date and/or time on some windows systems looking at that Tardis system... with-in a few seconds the data and/or time is corrected... but if I change the date and/or time on the OS X system and start the Type Sync back up... nothing never happens .. only on reboot (During Startup) does it seem to ask...

Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions to by gosh force OS X to by gosh keep correct time ?

Well.... I did find a trick that seem to be working decent enough....

I killed ntpd, edited crontab - adding the following line:
0 0-23 * * * root /usr/sbin/ntpdate time.apple.com

so this is by gosh working ;-)

Ok... what's next .... <grin>
