numbering figures with apple pages?

Hello,

a friend of mine nearly convinced me to use Apple pages instead of Microsoft Word for most of my tasks. But unfortunately, there is one thing I use frequently for my work and this is putting numbered figure titles under pictures. After hours of searching, I didn't find out how to do this. Is there a way (or will there be a way in future versions of pages)?

There is not and easy way to do this at the moment. I have seen some really gross hacks to get that effect and I always thought it was just better to do the numbers by hand. I hope that this an proper bibliography support will be present in the next version.
