I have done a reasonable amount of research on this and seem to be stuck.

Does anyone know where I can find a HOWTO to set up mysql odbc drivers. I need to create a dsn and seem unable to even install the myodbc drivers. Ideally I want something that will explain how to set up dsn my local mac ox10.2 machine and a remote mysql server based on some UNIX machine of unknown type.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.
 
I have tried installing the drivers at mysql.com and they do not work on 10.4.5

Anyone have a definitive guide to rolling your own? I have also installed darwin ports and ported in myodbc which took forever and produce no results at all.

I installed Open Office and myodbc on a windows machine and was into the database in a matter of minutes and I have the trial actual ODBC drivers installed on Tiger and they work fine but they are commercial and I need to roll out a lot of machines at minimal cost.

Any help would be appreciated
