oddball CD/DVD problem in OS 9

I am not sure when this problem occured
(after I installed OS X 10.1.x (newest) or after I installed mouseworks in OS for my kensington mouse-today) but in OS 9 when I double-click the DVD played to open it I get an error that says

"The DVD player cannot be opened because it cannot find the required hardware.

Please try reinstalling apple DVD player .(204)



[Quit button here]"


This is weird! Any ideas ?

The recent update to 10.1.2 featured some OS 9 components. I was prompted to install these when I started Classic.
Try starting up classic from within OS X, and it might install these comonents to OS 9.
It might work. On the other hand, if these components are causing your problem, you'll want to rip them out or reinstall OS 9.
