I have been running an FTP-server on a G4 450 for a while now.. I tried the built-in one that comes with OS X but soon switched to PureFTPd due to a lot of problems..
Ok, so I have about 30 users at the office who often connect to download and upload various files that I am to deliver to clients and various offices around the world.
What I am wondering now is does anyone know of a "better" server than PureFTPd? Sure, it's been working fine, but there are a few things that bug me. Like for instance, the greeting all users see when they connect. I'm not talking about the ".message", no no. The annoying one you can't get rid of saying something like "Welcome to PureFTPd ...".
I just want a plain, anonymous, (obscenely) secure and fast FTP server..
So, if anyone feels like sharing their experiences with other servers, please do so.
