Oni for X

Downloaded and installed per instructions OmniGroup's carbonization of Oni. When I launch from Mac OS X, the screen goes dark, as though the game were starting, then game quits suddenly and I'm returned to the desktop; no crash error message--the game just vanishes.

Anyone else having these problems? Omni's page for Oni X lists only the requirement for Mac OS X 10.1, no hardware requirements.

I checked and I am running 1.31. Put it in the folder with Oni 1.0.

Are there video card requirements they aren't telling us about? I have an iMac 333 with the Rage Pro card (I think). I bought another game, Terminus, which is the first one I've bought since owning an iMac that requires video better than Rage Pro. Could it be the same with Oni?

I discovered that Omni's Oni is a Cocoa app, not Carbon as I had said in the original post.

i'm having the same problem except i don't get to a black screen. mine just quits right away without any errors.

Hello!

My wife bought me Oni for Christmas - Yay!

Unfortunately my ATI Rage PRO card is not supported under X - BOO!

Oni X requires hardware acceleration so consequently doesn't run - BOO!

The only way to play Oni on a Rage PRO system is to boot back into 9....

Apparently Apple have no plans to support the ATI Rage PRO under X - GRRR!

Oh Well!

th enew version of Oni for X is nice... fixed some issues with textures and stuff.

everyone who plays Oni on X should update their copies.

i think the OSGE (Oni Save Game Editor) has finally been carbonized as well...
