Looking for progress
Is it just me or does there seem to be WAY more people on at a given time now?

It used to read in the mid 100's, now it over 500 regularly...is this an iTunes for windows side effect? I only say that because most of the users are guests. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

It probably happened a while ago, but I just noticed it this afternoon.

simplified version - instead of listing who's been on in the past 15 mins, it is now who's been logged in for a certain number of hours. which actually gives a better indication of how many active members we really have.
 
I was actually thinking it might be a new way of counting, but I didn't want to assume that....Thanks edX

Wait, so if you never log out here, it counts you as active even if you're not viewing the board? And how does that work for guests - they can't log in unless they set up an account.

I guess that would be the non-simplified version.
 
it counts connections. until you log in, you're counted as a guest. once logged in, you're a recognized member. i guess it might count people who don't don't log in automatically thru cookies twice. i'm not really sure about that part.
