Only way to resize a window???

It looks like the only way to resize a window is to click/drag the lower left hand corner. Is there another way to make the window sizing easier, like possibly grabing anywhere on the edge of the window to stretch in that direction? It's a real pain to have to drag the window by the title bar up, then click/drag the lower left corner to make the window bigger.
