ONYX says I need to repair volume: OSX says I did

I ran the disc utility from the start up disks and repaired the volume as suggested by Onyx. I ran the verify and all seems okay; ran the repair again, then rebooted. Try to run ONYX and I get a "you need to repair the volume run the OSX start up disk" error message. If I ignore, ONYX does its thing.

Any suggestions as to what's up?
Cleared the cache too.
