OK, so I downloaded a file with Unison, and it shows up as a lot of files with extensions like .001, .002, etc. I know with windows you can use winrar to open these, but I'm kind of stuck with what to do on Mac. What is a good program to use when opening these kinds of files? Thanks!

You have segmented files - Get a joiner application such as SplitAndConcact. It's Donationware (free but you are encouraged to donate if you like it), and works very well and is very easy.
