OpenOffice File-Send MenuItem problem

For some reason OO 3.3 has a problem with the File-Send menuitem. Instead of opening the e-mail client with a new message and the document as an attachment it is opening the e-mail program only.This happens with Thunderbird and Apple Mail. This works correctly in MS Word and NeoOffice. Is there a fix for this? I tried posting this in the OO forum but got no replies

I have the same problem with MS Outlook even after all the spaces in the file/folder names are removed.

Well I guess it is a path problem.OO is located in another folder in Applications. If I take the OO application out of this folder so that it sits directly in the applications folder then Send works as expected.
