hello!
i bought an nec nd3520a dvd internal drive. i successfully run this optical drive on a mac g4 (mirrored doors) at work and a co-worker successfully runs it as well.
the power cord and ribbon cable are connected fine, none of the pins are bent, the jumper is set to master. there are no other drives connected.
i understand that this is a pc dvd drive but it should register regardless in the system profiler and does not.
after endless frustration i go to hook up my old combo drive...this drive is now no longer visible on the system profiler.
could i have shorted out something or confused something? any advice?
