OS 10.1.1 but Finder 10.1?

Hi! Yesterday I updatet My System to OS 10.1.1! I cleaned my disk and did a full new install. After installing OS 10.1.1 I was immpressed. It's a lot faster than OS 10.1! So does the Finder. But as I looked into the about Box it says "Finder 10.1" Is that right or do I have to reinstall all? HELP! :(

The reason that it's faster is probably because you reinstalled your system. The reason that Finder is still 10.1 is because Apple not has updated it, it is nothing wrong.

But they said that they made improvements to the Finder? Are those guys at Apple stupid? Why do they change the code without changing the Version? Strange:confused:

I also thought they had improved the Finder.

One of the problems 10.1.1 seems to have solved is the size of movie windows within the finder.

Prior to upgrading to 10.1.1, if the finder window was smaller than the movie preview window, the movie would get squeezed in an unproportinoal way. Now it's fine!:D

That is right man, good observation!

By the way, ever thought about removing the white box around your Apple avatar? ;)

It's possible that the Finder HAS been updated, but that they just didn't add the extra number, because they forgot, was to lazy to do it or because it looks cleaner that way...

AppleWatcher: Pinguin is spelled Penguin ;)

Yeah sorry for my spelling, I live in the Netherlands...:D

And about my Avatar: I surf on the Internet with my fathers computer which is not a Mac and there's no Photoshop on it (only Paint  ), but I'm gonna make a new Avatar on my iMac DV SE
with Painter 7 or something... :D

If you want the true version number, look at the Finder.app in Finder (System/Library/CoreServices). Mine says 10.1.1 (ignore the 4k one which says 10.0 and "Classic Application", that's the "Fake Finder" whatever that is).

If it bugs you that much, edit the InfoPlist.strings file in Finder.app

Finaly in 10.1 btw. If you have had issues with BrickHouse, gNAT, or NATd in Mac OS X 10.0-10.0.4, try BrickHouse (newest version) and 10.1 or later.

Even if the Finder was version 10.1.1, Apple might leave the version in the about box at 10.1 - the major revision number. It might be too messy to keep putting smaller revisions on there.

I also updated to 10.1.1. if I went to About Finder, it showed as 10.1. If I hilighted finder in Core Services, and went to Show Info., it showed as 10.1.1.
