Hi all,
I started facing this problem for last 3-4 days and it's pretty weird. On a periodic basis (approx 2 hrs), the display turns off and I was not able to acess this machine from other machines in my lab. I thought that the machine is shutdown. But it was not so. When I pressed the power button once, it made the usual startup/shutdown sound but the display wasn't up. So I pressed the power button second time and this time, the machine along with display came up. It means that when the display turns off, the complete machine is actually not turned off but the network connections/optical drives etc are down.
Let me tell you my settings related to display. I had earlier selected my display to never sleep, my machine to never turn off and hard disk is never stopped (because I was using this machine for some data backup).
If you guys can diagnose something out of it, it'll be just fantastic. This problem is just pissing me off.
thx,
