Os X 10.4 Internet Connection Problem

I installed OS X 10.4 around 2 weeks ago and haven't had an internet connection since. I use a BT Voyager ethernet modem which my Mac is successfully connecting to. Furthermore, the modem is saying it is connected to DSL and I should be able to browse the internet... The strangest thing is that my work's Windows laptop can also NOT connect to the internet since installing the Mac upgrade. I have spoken to my ISP and there is definitely no problem at their end.

Please help! Thanks!

Edit:
I have discovered after a fair amount of research that you have to specifically enter the "DNS Servers" numbers in 10.4. After doing this my internet connection works, although seemingly a fair bit slower than before. Surely loads of people must be encountering this problem?!
