OS X and a networkless Mac

I'm shortly to loose access to a network or internet connection (my mac will become total isolated!).

Is there a way of running Web Sharing offline in that sort of enviroment?

loopback interface is always there; Apache will run. However, the only access to the data will be possible from your physical machine, which makes this kind of operation relatively useless, unless of course you are a web designer and want to keep testing your pages.

Or maybe I am completely misunderstanding your question...

without wishing to sound too daft, but how can I set it up? Are there any online guides etc?

Just turn web sharing on, and access your pages by entering http://127.0.0.1/ in the URL bar of your browser.

there is also a hostname associated with 127.0.0.1 that you can use: localhost.

... which means you can go to http://localhost/ to see your own web share.
