OS X ate my email?

so i was using the mail.app and loving it. had a been using it for the past week or so and had several things in my inbox. i logged in as the root user to delete a couple of colorsync profiles. i HONESTLY didn't touch anything else. didn't even empty the trash. logged back in as the admin account. went to check mail and all my previous setting and emails were gone. mail.app asked me to enter in new info like it didn't know who i was. i can accept that mail.app forgot me, but where are those emails. i've been looking everywhere. they gotta be somewhere. any clues?

Sorry to hear that.

If the .mbox files in your ~/Library/Mailboxes directory are gone then your e-mails are gone. Otherwise thats where they would be.

Hope you get things working again,
