OS X Boot Error

bobw

The Late: SuperMacMod
After installing Norton's AntiVirus, I can no longer boot into OS X (10.1.4)

The screen gives a long error string.

Had the same thing happen last week after installing Dave. Ran DiskWarrior when that happened and it repaired whatever was wrong. DW won't help this time.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

That's a kernel crash at startup. I used to have that problem, so I never installed anything that required a reboot. The best way to fix it is to get another computer with Os X on it copy the kernel files from it, to yours. The file is hidden at the root of the OS. It's called mach_kernel.
Try that.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm going to install X on another partition and do the updates and see if I can copy the files.
