OS-X consitant crashing

This is very strange.

I just came home after letting my iBook sleep for a while, and now whenever I open Mozilla, the app crashes...

I thought it was only Mozilla, but IE, Chimera, Mozilla, Eudora, BBEdit, to name a few, all crash upon boot.

My OS is Japanese so the error message is in Japanese, but basically it says that 'due to some unknown cause, x app has crashed, this will not affect other aps.

This really sucks... has anyone seen this before? Rebooted, shutdown, and still those apps all crash upon starting them. So odd.

This is freakin weird.

Goldberg, Palm Desktop, iPhoto work fine.. other apps crash constantly.

Help~~ Or, where can I go to get this stuff fixed?

put the crash log on from console to see (if you decipher) what caused the crashs... and tell what the crashlogs say.

what x you have, 10.2.3 ? did you install safari???? << doubts ...

I found my Apple Care number.

In your experience are these guys pretty good at handling tech calls? I just got his mac about a month ago, never experienced their support though. Heh.

Hrm... so weird.

I have 10.2.3, didn't install safari.

What is that anyway?

Where are the crashlogs in the console? I checked in /core, didn't see it. Didn't notice anything in my home dir as well.

Thanks for the help btw. Panic mode.

The console reader should be in Applications>Utilities.

Try AppleCare. I've heard generally good things about support.

Got the error out of the console. It is the same for every app that crashes in this way.

The parser will retry as in 10.1, but the problem should be
corrected in the plist.

I did some web searching, and found some Japanese sites with the same error message I am getting...

Here is one. http://www.hscjpn.co.jp/faq/faq12.html

It says the solution in this case is to go to the Apple Menu, Control Panel, Function Extension Manager, and uncheck the PC Exchange or File exchange box and reboot...

huh?

Problem solved.

I got the solution from here.
http://apple.slashdot.org/apple/02/11/23/0327218.shtml?tid=172

It turns out that some of my configuration files got corrupted. I want to know how...?

Anyway. The files that were corrupted were com.apple.desktop.plist and com.apple.internetconfig.plist

Both of these files are located in /Users/-username-/Library/Preferences/

To solve the problem I deleted them, and OSX Will recreate them at defaults for you..

By deleting desktop.plist I lost my wallpaper settings... not sure what left with internetconfig.plist... scary to find out.
