hey everyone,
Lately whenever i go to empty my trash (whether it be command shift delete or TrashIt!) my computer freezes. When I restarted it couldn't recognize my main drive, and luckily tech tool pro saved me. The trash problem still happens though... every 9-10 restarts i can delete trash, but only if i'm lucky will it not freeze. The funny thing is that even though everything stops, i can still move my mouse around a lot...
Also, whenever i try to open iTunes it says "the itunes music library file cannot be read because it does not appear to be a valid library file." I have 10000+ songs, so its kind of a huge hassle to rebuild my library file every time this happens. Any idea what i can do? Running norton antivirus now...

What is TrashIt! ?? A program??

Can you delete from terminal?
rm -rf ~/.Trash/*
or
sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/*

Many times the antiviruses give more trouble than are useful. Is there any difference with and without Norton running?

have you tried to run fsck ?

(reboot and hold apple-s keys when restarting. then fsck -y ) << that checks and repairs, if needed the filesystem. It could help...
