OS X interacting with Wins servers

Anybody had any experience with getting OS X to "see" PC's or interact with PC's in a Win server environment?

Because our netowrk at work is served by a Win server (some kind of windows only server lookup thingie I think), I have to use a "special" router to have any internet access at all and I am unable to "see" virtually all of the PC workstations on our network.

I have added the IP of the Win Server into the WINS box in SAMBA, but that had no affect.

Any ideas?
