OS-X Server 10.6 - Failsafe Backup solution?

I'm attempting to come up with a solution involving an Xserve and a Mac Mini Server for a fail safe system should the main server get taken out by some sort of any number of natural disasters.

The Xserve is an ODMaster... I was initially thinking the Mac Mini Server would be an ODReplica as its off site and a convenient spot to put up a redundant backup system.

The Data back up isn't the problem.

The problem is how do I implement a seamless transition where-as the OD Master Server gets taken out/shutdown/fails *use worst imagination* and the MacMini Server takes its place without so much as a hiccup or a gap other than reasonably acceptable delay.

A Mirrored server if you will.

Services such as AFP, SMB, iCal... etc... continue to function.

From what I've gathered the ODMaster holds the greater bulk of the hard data.... the OD Replica is just maintaining a copy of the Open Directory database which is essentially user account information.

So in short... how can I implement a way to temporary promote the Mac Mini server to Master status in case of an emergency?

And if not Replica/Master... what is the best suggestion for that?
