I have a Mac OS 10.3.9 server and have an external DVD burner. I have a program called Deja Vue which backs up my server to an external hard drive. What I want to do is to backup the files saved to the external hard drive and create a DVD for off site backups. However when I use Toast 6.0 from Roxio, the disc will not create fully and I get an error 5000 file not accessible due to permission error. NOTE: I am logged on as the root account on the server. I have tried to reset all the rights to the main folder and set the option to modify all files in the folder to give the root account permission but that does not seem to correct the problem. I can copy the files from one external disc to another but error out each time when making a data DVD. One other thing is that there are some very old MS office files and MS Works files which the error seems to pick up on. Is there any way to correct this or is making a DVD not an option for this server?
