I have just found out to my horror that I can't install OS 9 Disk Drivers to an existing OS X drive... not that it matters on MY computer, but I told someone it could be done and I'm going over to do it on Friday... eek!
I read that if the drive was erased/partitioned a certain way, I might be able to install the OS 9 Drivers (crossing fingers).
But say a repeat happens on this other Mac and it can't be done...
The Mac has:
OS X Server 10.2 on Main drive
2 Data Drives set on a Stripping RAID Array via the OS X Software
I'll be attaching a drive via Firewire and using ditto to do the backup, Repartition the drive installing the OS 9 Drivers and restoring the data.
Will this work, and not break the User Permissions or break the RAID Set?
And, if worse comes to worse and I have to reinstall the drive and redo the user and permissions... can the RAID set be rebuilt without having to reformat or lose data on the drives?
Hopefully I'm just worrying for nothing... if so, let me know!
I'm also open to other/better suggestions.
Thanks for any help or info...
