OS X System Installation Size?

As some of you probably know I'm looking into getting an old clamshell iBook, but I'm wondering if 3.2 GB is really enough to run the system on.

How big is the base installation of OS X 10.1, and how much RAM should I get to avoid using a gigantic swap file, in your estimation?

Cheers!

1. My 10.1 takes up 1.2GB. My Jaguar takes up surprisingly less, only 950MB. I'm guessing it'll be larger by final release, however. OSX is a monster. You also have to factor in classic (about 450MB) on top of that. That leaves very little room left on that poor hard drive.

2. If you do choose to get the iBook, I'd reccomend getting as much RAM as it can hold. RAM is cheap right now, and OSX is a RAM hog.
