OS X thinks my screen is 5" big.

i formatted my computer and installed a fresh install of 10.2 today, and when i boot up, the screen only takes up maybe 30% of the monitor. it's a new ibook 900mhz.
the screen is surrounded by black space on all sides. the resolution is set to 1024x768.
it first happened when the computer boot from the jag CD.

can anyone help?
 
You need to be using the restore CDs/DVD on newer systems. The standard 10.2 CDs don't have all the drivers and updates needed to run systems released after Jaguar (Aug. 24, 2002).

Beyond display and graphics card drivers, you'll have problems with things like keyboards, mice and other devices that may have originally come with your system.

As I recall, the fastest iBook at the time of Jaguar's release was 700 MHz.

If you've lost the restore disks, you should contact Apple to see about getting replacements. No amount of software updating is going to fix the problems with an installation of a version of the OS that was not designed for your system.

i installed the update package and it works now =)

i left the restore disks in houston =/ i won't be going back there for awhile. maybe i can get my family to mail 'em to me =)
