OS X will not open External Drive where it left off

Hi,

I have a problem and it has been to even describe, so let me try now:

I am running OS X on a MacBook Pro. I have attached to this computer 2 external drives.

Normally, if I am in Photoshop (for example) and I open up a file, I select OPEN, then I browse to a specific folder on one of my external drives. I find the file and open it.

If after that I want to open up another file located in the exact same place, when I select OPEN, OS X remembers where I opened a file from last and takes me right there in the same folder.

Suddenly, this feature has stopped working on only one of my external drives.

That is to say that if I open up a file on this particular external drive, I first have to browse through to get to my specific folder I want and if I need another file from that same folder, OS X doesn't remember where that was. It starts be back at my USER folder as if I never opened a file before on this drive.

The only thing I ever did with this drive was I tried to plug it into a different computer.

I am not sure if that is what caused this or not, but the drive works fine other than what I described. I can read, write, etc. no problem.

What's going on?

Do I have to re-format this drive from scratch? Or is there a fix.

I tried to verify the drive and it is all fine according to Disk Utility.

Ideas?

Thanks!!

a. :)
