OSX 10.1.1 is suppose to have "improved SMB enhancements"

Any idea what they are? Ihave installed the 10.1.1 update, and I still cannot connect to my Dell Webserver.

I was expecting a SMB interface.
 
Nope, there is no SMB interface. Just type in smb://xxx.xxx.xxx in the connect panel, and it'll connect. Simple, but not obvious.

( Obviously, the IP address, or whatever, not xxx.xxx.xxx )
 
You need to

Go > Connect to server

an alternative syntax to connect is

smb://domain;username:password/share
 
I believe they made some speed enchancements, but I have not read anything specific. One would probably need to be on one of the developer lists to know for sure.

Also, the post above shows a smiley in the URL to access SMB shares.

smb://workgroup;user@server/share/

I don't believe the URL example in the first post works at all.
