OSX 10.6 & Canon Pixma MP160 scanner (newbie)

HI!

I have OSX 10.6.2 and Canon Pixma mp160 printer/scanner. OSX has no problem identifying the printer, but I can't get the scanner working. I donwloaded scanner drivers from vendor, but neither Photoshop or any other software sees the device. I actually THINK I first installed drivers for 10.4 by mistake, but I installed 10.6. afterwards, could there be a conflict? Both drivers installed succesfully and restarted the OS. But I can't see any information anywhere..

Not likely a driver conflict after installing 10.6 ones. Did you try using Image Capture?

Yes, I tried that but it can't see any devices. Printer worked without any driver installation thou..

Did you try running Software Update or downloading the scanner drivers from Apple?

Software update is up to date, Apple driver database refers to vendor download page.

I installed VueScan. First it announced that it found a canon pixma mp 160, but couldn't connect to it. I replugged MP160 and started VueScan again and it worked!

But I still cannot see any picture resources in Photoshop CS4 or any other software.
