OSX only on new powerbook 17"

is this true?
im looking to buy a new PB but am put off slightly by reading that it only supports OSX unlike my 866 which can do both OS.
thanks.
and if poss can i have this offically proven??
 
PB17 will not boot into OS9, but, of course, Classic mode is completely supported. What software do you still need to boot into OS 9?
